Here's the bit in the video where I really noticed how bad the PS2 version looks: The jaggies in this shot (paused) are dramatically worse than on the DC, and I doubt that just the lower resolution fully explains that. While the lower resolution is certainly a factor, it's nowhere near enough to explain the whole difference hasn't it always been remarked on that the PS2, while it has some visual strengths (high polygon counts, good particle effects), the bad image quality holds it back? Progressive scan does reduce the number of jaggies you see in PS2 games, though most PS2 games don't support it, but as you see here they're still a big problem.
